Trauma is an individual’s emotional response to a distressing event where the scale of the response cannot be predicted, regardless of the perceived severity of the event. In coaching, or indeed therapy, as professionals we seek to work with someone who is carrying trauma but what is the depth of our understanding as coaches of how trauma is experienced and the complexities of PTSD or mental illness?
By the end of the course, you will:
Coaches can expect to gain a deeper understanding of working safely with clients in a trauma informed way. By the end of the programme, delegates will:
· Be able to work safely with clients who present with trauma, use tools and
· techniques to support them towards growth without re-traumatisation
· Have learned about the different types of trauma, behaviours related to
· trauma and have a deeper understanding of trauma
· Have practiced using tools and techniques to support working in a trauma
· informed way, such as grounding techniques and having a conversation
· about safeguarding
· Understand the role of a coach when a client presents with trauma and how
· to best support them
· Understand the role of a coach when working with trauma
